nhow Amsterdam RAI serves as the main hotel for the RAI convention center, while also acting as social unifier and catalyst for the surrounding areas. With the spectacular nhow Amsterdam RAI concept and the iconic design by OMA, the hotel has changed the skyline of the Zuidas district. Moreover, nhow Amsterdam RAI provides a new urban presence in Amsterdam and the Zuidas business district.
nhow Amsterdam RAI is a unique architectural achievement. The three shifted triangular volumes of the building draws from the triangular advertising column on the Europaplein. The 91-meter-high hotel can be considered both as an extension of the RAI complex itself and as part of it, also through the incorporation of the dense flows of pedestrians, cyclists and automotive traffic that traverse the site.
Inside the building, the hotel attracts visitors and passerby’s alike with a mix of contemporary art, design, gastronomy and cultural expressions. On the top floors, stunning panoramic views go hand in hand with a variety of public and semi-public facilities, such as a restaurant annex bar and sky lounge. A feast for the senses.
nhow Amsterdam RAI commits to a sustainable future by following world-leading standards for sustainability and energy efficiency. The hotel boasts a BREEAM Excellent certification.
“Since the rise of Zuidas, Amsterdam RAI needed a ‘new’ urban look. The prominent advertising pillar ‘the Signaal’ provided inspiration for the new nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel and context for the extension of Amsterdam RAI itself.”
“This amazing new place is a significant addition to the city and the RAI convention center. By putting daring architecture together with a sustainable building, we were able to make an immense positive impact on the surroundings.”
